Shared memory capsule
Terms of Service
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Welcome to Capsoul. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked here.
1. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials, and activity under your account. Do not create an account for another person without consent.
2. Capsoul and your content
Capsoul is a shared memory capsule. It supports Personal and Shared modes, but trusted sharing, waiting, and reopening memories together are central to the service. You retain ownership of content you create. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, release, and deliver it solely to operate and protect the service.
For Shared capsules, you must have an appropriate basis to contact recipients and share the content. Do not use Capsoul to send illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, infringing, exploitative, or privacy-invasive material.
3. Safety, reports, and blocks
Recipients may report eligible shared content or accounts. A report does not guarantee a particular outcome, but we may investigate and take proportionate action. Report review records are normally retained for 180 days after closure, with limited extensions for active safety, fraud, dispute, or legal needs.
Blocking prevents specified future shared interactions according to the app’s rules. Blocked users are not shown who blocked them. You may unblock later; unblocking does not restore a withdrawn, deleted, expired, or otherwise unavailable capsule.
4. Purchases and paid preservation
Memory Months may come from one-time Consumable In-App Purchases, optional monthly or annual auto-renewable Memory Membership, or eligible grants. Transaction verification adds non-expiring credits to the server-owned balance. The sender uses the server-quoted whole number of Memory Months when sealing a qualifying Shared Capsoul; one through five recipients use the same sender-only amount, and recipients open for free. Exact membership releases, calculation, upload-reservation release, withdrawal, refund adjustment, claim window, legacy treatment, and local-recovery rules are in the Paid Preservation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Prices, taxes, Apple subscription billing, cancellation, and refunds are also subject to Apple’s applicable App Store terms. Capsoul does not provide direct WeChat Pay checkout for these iOS digital products. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Withdrawal, local documents, and deletion
The sender may withdraw an eligible Capsoul before the durable local-claim boundary, subject to the service rules, but used Memory Months are not returned. During the claim window, cloud content may be removed early after all required local copies are confirmed or otherwise after the applicable deadline. The memory may then exist only as a local .capsoul document. Local documents can be lost if the device, app data, or backup is lost, and they cannot necessarily be recovered by Capsoul.
You may delete your account in the app. Deletion removes remaining Memory Months and stops later membership releases, but does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel it through Apple. Service-side deletion does not remotely erase copies or local documents already received and controlled by another user’s device.
6. Acceptable use
You may not impersonate others, violate intellectual-property or privacy rights, distribute malware, abuse invitations or reporting, evade blocks or enforcement, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the service, manipulate purchases or credits, or use automated means without permission.
7. Service availability
We work to provide reliable release and delivery, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep your account and device information current and maintain appropriate backups of local documents. Features may change where reasonably required for security, law, platform requirements, or service operation.
8. Disclaimer and liability
Capsoul is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law, without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Capsoul and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms and will provide appropriate notice of material changes. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms. Questions may be sent to support@capsoul.chat.
